Successful Conclusion of the Asia Pacific Regional Snooker Championships

27 March, Sydney, Australia - The Asia Pacific Regional Snooker Championships concluded on a high note after a thrilling week of competition from March 16th to March 23rd. Hosted across three categories for Women's, Under 21's, and the Open event, the Championship drew snooker enthusiasts from across the region, with the Open event offering a coveted 2-year tour card spot on the World Snooker Tour (WST).

Congratulations to the Winners

In the Women's Snooker category, Jessica Woods from Australia emerged victorious, defeating Lilly Meldrum, also from Australia, with a commanding 4-0 victory in the final. Jessica showcased her skill with the highest break of 84 in the round robin stages. Special mention to Theresa Whitten and Kylie Bellinger for their outstanding performance, reaching the semi-finals.

The Under 21's Snooker event witnessed Lei Piefan from China clinching victory in a captivating final against Jayden Dinga from Australia. Despite trailing 3-1, Lei's resilience led to a remarkable comeback, securing the title. Jayden's exceptional performance, highlighted by a superb break of 123, showcased his promising talent. Kudos to semi-finalists Liu Wenwei from China and Xavier Daw from Australia.

Thrilling Finale at the Asia Pacific Open Snooker

The main event, the Asia Pacific Open Snooker, attracted 92 players from 6 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In a thrilling finale, Lei Peifan from China emerged victorious, edging out Vinnie Calabrese from Australia in a nail-biting finish with a score of 6-5. Vinnie's impressive performance, marked by four century breaks, added to the excitement of the tournament. Congratulations to Lei on securing back-to-back titles and earning a spot on the World Professional Tour.
